Road to Morocco

'How the hell do I top that?'

While on a trip to Essaouria in Morocco I was delighted to come across this slightly dodgy tribute to Orson Welles

A towering figure of the 20th century, he transformed theatre, radio & cinema all by the age of 26

While even I would hesitate to compare myself to him, I can identify with his genius for making something magical happen under the most difficult circumstances, and his attitude to work:

'Welles approached the Wonder Show as he approached everything he cared about, with lavish inventiveness and imagination and very little preparation' Orson Welles: Hello Americans by Simon Callow

Do look up the sound clip of the great director reduced to advertising frozen peas - he's fantastically fractious and as we say in Scotland 'well refreshed' ... 'no money is worth this!'
