Constantly aiming to make the basic things better, I've been experimenting with on-camera flash.
Back in the pre-digital dark ages, I used twin flashes-on-camera that required several sets of cables and a separate belt-mounted battery pack.
A flash either side of the lens evens out the shadows & adds an extra light in the eyes - it's basically portable studio beauty lighting
Now that flashes are radio-controlled & higher-powered, there's no wiring & no separate battery and the silicone domes & bounce cards give a beautiful, soft, even light and the red ring holds the attention.
I like to think that when I take your picture, you know you've had your picture taken!
