I remember the days of shooting headshots on colour transparency when you had to decide how many frames to budget per person; 9 frames each got you 4 people per roll and you only found out if someone's eyes were closed long after the event.
Now I can produce a first set of images, review them with the client on 2 screens, shoot more as required and tag their selected pictures for bespoke processing & background replacement through Lightroom, Aperture On1, Portrait Pro & Photoshop, which can be done on site if required.
This allows the people with whom I work to become collaborators, as they can see what I see (as I tell everyone, it's our photograph, not my photograph) and I find they're much more invested in the process, which in turn produces better results.
The large screen also lets people check fine detail and decide on any adjustments they might prefer, from a minimal brush & polish to facial adjustment & removal of flaws - this is saved as a personal preset and can be applied automatically to all of their images.
As always, if you look good, I look good.
